duno if it's cos i once took french (which of cos i've forgotten almost 95% of wat i learnt), or cos i simply like french stuff, i've always been quite interested in french foreign films.. (tho altho i like, i realli nvr bother to go hunt for the books/movies to read/watch)...

ok.. so much for fei hua intro. the idea is, a week b4 my bdae, i suddenly had this decision to chong3 chong3 myself n treat myself to a sistic musical/play. so i started surfing the sistic webby. but there is no interesting thing except for chitty chitty bang bang, which will oni start in nov. but i wanna watch in oct. haha. so i continue surfing the webby, and coincidentally it's now the Singapore French Film Festival. n i decided to settle for a french musical movie instd. yuan lai there is this place called the Alliance Francaise de Singapour Theatre, where they screen french movies every mth!!

so i jio-ed my beloved movie partner squadmte ELI! to go for the movie. The movie we watched is called "Les parapluies de Cherbourg", which translates to "The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg". It's a sad love story, with a good ending despite the sadness of the love story. both eli n i are pleased with the ending.

I enjoyed the show alot.. cos 1) it's a musical, the songs are not bad. 2) the storyline altho sad, has a good ending. 3) the female leads have VERY pretty eyes, n they look like barbie dolls. 4) the show hav some very cliche n purposely romantic actions, like when they kiss they hav to spin. not the camera spin, but the couple spin. 5) duno if it's an old film (the setting is in the 50s, 60s), there are some very funny lousy filming skills like the abrupt changing of scenes, and got some scene where the couple was walking a bicycle and supposed to be strolling, but u can c damn obviously that they're on a trolley/platform and they were being pulled along. so they machiam like ghosts floating lidat. 6) i feel good being able to understd some simple french terms like "bonjour, bonsoir, madame, madamoiselle, monsieur, oui, non" etc. (pardon me if i spelled wrongly. i din chk my french dictionary. ) 7) i feel classy watching a foreign film in a non-conventional cinema. 8) i watched the show with Eli, who appreciates the show as much as me.
