before i continue, i mus make a disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I have nothing against foreigners. In fact, i dun mind them n tink tt they are foreign talents, which i jus explored in my HR project not too long ago..
BUT. this caucasian i met today has to be the black sheep, making me feel bullied and irritated at foreigners.
prelude -- in my HR rpt, my grp interviewed my FYP prof, who mentioned tt singaporeans are rude in tt they dun let ppl alight b4 they board mrt.
situation today --
i was with my mum at a shopping complex today, waiting for the lift. when the lift door opened, my mum tried to walk in. which i hav to say tt it's not very polite, like the case of the MRT, shld hav waited for the ppl inside to come out. BUT, the angmoh was very irritating ok. he purposely pushed his trolley very quickly directly towards my mum, which if her reflexes is slow would have been knocked in the stomach. and so my mum moved backwards for the angmoh to come out lah. but as the angmoh moved out, he was mumbling in a loud voice "can u all let us come out b4 u all come in." this sentence i can accept since we were wrong in the 1st place. but the angmoh followed with a 2nd sentence, which realli pissed me off. he was already quite far away, so i oni managed to hear the word "terrible". so he either said "you all are terrible", or "u hav terrible manners". whatever it is, i tink he's very rude! even if we were wrong in the first place, it doesn't warrant the word "terrible" to b used on us!! i told my mum wat the angmoh said cos my mum dun understd english so well. i feel so bullied ok. damn it.
after tt i told my dad n younger bro wat happened. den my dad was saying if he were dere mayb he would say the F word (which of cos i dun tink he would. haha). so anywae i was telling them tt if the angmoh was still near me when he said "terrible". i may have talked back. "excuse me, we're wrong in tt we tried to rush into the lift. but i tink it's rude of u to say tt we're terrible."
that is wat i may have said. but on 2nd thoughts, mayb i should hav said, in bad english. "fuck u lah. u cannot say lidat u noe!~ you tink my engrish not good den i won't understd wat u're saying? you chao ang moh. speak in ur own native language if u dun wan me to noe tt u're scolding me." den probably scold a string of foul words in some weird language tt he wouldn't understd. but cannot use the common ones like KNS, KNN, CB cos he will probably noe them since foul words are norm the 1st words to learn in a language. heh.
ok end of story. once again, i must say tt i realli have nothing against foreigners. like how i tink tt my FYP prof, a foreigner, is a very nice person. and how i tink tt the bangladesh construction workers are quite kelian cos they need to work so hard in the rain and sun n yet they earn very little. but this one i met today is realli mean. i felt so wei3 qu1 after this incident and regret not talking back.
