since a couple of years back, all the reality shows, free money shows like who wants to be a millionaire etc started being popular. i suppose the most recent such show is "deal or no deal". guess everyone has somehow, sometime watched an episode of it somewhere. i've watched one or 2 episodes. it's not too bad actualli, with all the pretty babes looking pretty beside their breifcases waiting for their number to b called. i had wanted to watch the episodes with the hunks when i saw the ad on tv. but somehw they werent appealing enuff for me to rem when it is showing exactly, n go home to watch them. dere's a part i find kinda silly tho, the part where the banker calls the host to strike a deal with the player. isnt it quite redundant? they can simply jus make the offer appear on the screen or sth. but they had to make it drama n hav the banker call the host n let the host create some suspense. lol
oh anywae.. sorry for digressing. better move on to the topic proper b4 u start wondering wat i m doing, commenting on a variety show tt has been showing for ages oredi.
oh well the thing is, i read "kennysia.com" quite frequently, like the way he blogs. quite entertaining. so happens tt he managed to get on the deal or no deal in KL. n... u'll probably laugh ur head off after u watch his episode, or feel damn sad for him.. so when u've time, trust meiying n watch it okie? if the videos below dun work, u can search for "kennysia deal or no deal" on youtube. kennysia himself posted the videos. hehe

New Year Countdown~
yea i noe i said in my prev entry tt i dun hav anymore parties for the year 2007. but hey.. it's last min tt this gathering came true okie?
so happens tt squatter mz has a chalet with her frens , and her fren's frens etc... n decided to invite us for a new yr's eve bbq. n squatters eli, yu and i last min can make it! yeah~ we did manage to have a celeb for 2007 somehow, tho we missed our annual xmas celeb. pity squatter ja9 n xy wasnt ard tho.so the bbq turned out to be a very big bbq.. tink 30+ ppl if i din rem wrongly. but everyone din noe everyone.. cos as i recall, there were like 3-4 cliques of frens dere, cliques of frens of the 6 hosts. okie i noe i'm not making this clear. but who cares.
haha.for those who duno.. i stay in the northwest. had a long way to travel to go pasir ris yea? take mrt take until almost wanna puke.. literally. haha. met up with eli n went 1st.. cos ah yu came fr work so was late.. haven been to chalets for a while.. so pardon me while i say this.
i cannot believe it tt i hav to pay to go into a chalet for bbq!!!!!!!!!!!
n den the bbq pits for the same block are all parked in the same area, as opposed to last time where u hav ur own pit in front of ur own chalet. the new arrangement is not very good u noe.. so smoky.. n no privacy. boo.
oh.. on new yr's eve's eve, had a short msn conversation with dwarf minmin n realised tt she was gonna hav a bbq at pasir ris too. but it was a pleasant coincidence tt she's at the same block, at the neighbouring bbq pit. haha. but min was bad k... b4 she left i was like "hey let's take a photo tog". den she said "we hav so many photos tog le wat".. or sth to tt effect.
meanie min.but anywae i had a nice time chatting with my dear eli, mz and ah yu. n also with kailee, audrey. not so much of serene tho, cos she was busy entertaining elisa n bf. oh tho u all may not c this, thks to kailee and audrey for bbq-ing food for me to eat until it's like a buffet! my plate was always full.. input onto the plate was faster den output.. until i decide to throw my plate to ah yu. n den it became her turn to input faster den output. lol. i oso enjoyed jus sitting dere n poking a lot of marshmellow on the sticks for audrey n kailee to bbq while i wait patiently for my bbq-ed marshmellow. oso enjoyed laughing at eli when she kept wanting to offer the sweet potato reserved for ah jack to others.. oso enjoyed looking at the preparation of the huge bento for ah jack by kailee n audrey when he called mz to say he's hungry on his way down. oso enjoyed looking at ah jack's expression when he saw the huge bento prepared for him. oh ah jack said my hairstyle is the jolin cai yi lin's hairstyle. which i insisted on interpreting as he said i look like jolin
. n afterwhich he insisted tt i say he lost weight. den i oso enjoyed the calm.. peaceful.. anticlimax countdown we did by jus switching on the tv n looking at chn5's countdown. haha.. n oso enjoyed the ride home with eli n ah yu on my dad's lorry.all in all, i'm jus glad i had something to do on new year's eve. it's nice, tho it realli seemed boring n it's not even my chalet. haha. but yeah! may the new year 2008 be a great year for all, and an even better year den the past years!! the best has yet to come~
oh jus realised i haven gotten any photographs from anyone. so this will b a photo-less entry. hehe. but i simply wanna blog on 1st day of 2008 yah?

An exciting adventure.. b4 i grow even older to do such things..
shall blog this b4 2007 ends.
the most exciting thing i've done in 2007, n the first time i'm doing such things.. is a theme-based party. It came one fine evening when minmin, ah li, lala and meimei were having dinner.. n was planning for a xmas party. den minmin suggested tt we hav a theme-based party this yr. n it was decided tt we shall hav a PJs party~hmmm PJs party nothing much rite.. jus go someone's hse.. change n take some photos. but nahz.. ah li decided tt she wanna sing ktv.. so ermm yes. we wore PJs with xmas hats to chinatown. event date was Hari Raya Haiji eve.. 21 Dec 07. yes.. we din even do this on xmas eve.. but did it on harirayahaji eve instd.. so it was totally...

in previous yrs, altho i'm not a very very festive person who goes for countdowns for all occasions, or hav very happening frens who'll always jio me for such countdowns, but i'll normally hav at least 1 xmas gathering with my Squatters, n mayb 1 with my Dwarves, n perhaps some new yr party with Selines, or cn5-ers, or another new yr party with squatters and dwarves.. this yr? cos of unforeseen circumstances, 1 xmas gathering got cancelled, 1 new yr gathering i din go for of bad mood. so oni left 1xmas gathering. which is the PJs party. hehee. how come this yr so sad ah.. is it cos we're old le.. dun do such stuff anymore? or cos everyone is adapting to their new phase of lifes so busier.. n the new frens made are not close enuff to hav such countdown parties? i duno.. but it's okie i guess. i'm not a very happening person either. jus sometimes, esp at the eves of public hols, when i feel abit sad tt i'm so not happening.. lol
so i tink the 2 peaks of my life is probably at sec sch, where life was realli 无忧无虑.. n i joined a happening cca, met a bunch of happening Squatters n 出生入死 with them.. n den had a bunch of sinful accomplices the Dwarves. yes we still talk abt how we always had our own main courses during recess, followed by slices of pizzas n garlic bread!! it's realli cos of the dwarves tt i'm in this state today..
the 2nd peak of my life probably happened during uni.. where i made the right choice of joining FWC to meet frens.. n i did meet the Selines.. where we're still keeping in contact till now. even when most other ogs died down.. n den we went tog to be councillors for the nex FWC. i realli enjoyed tt period of time.. the bonding, the regular outings, the fake flirtings, the mahjong sessions, the fright night!!! left a lot of fond memories.. n of cos my cn5-ers.. but with them is more of having a lot of fun while doing projs n stuff.. all my nus exciting stuff shld hav been covered in my entry abt nus graduation le
i'm not a good writer.. so i prob din make my life sound as exciting to you as it had been to me.. i'm grateful for my life so far.. nonetheless, i still hav a few wishes tt will make my life complete. hope 2008 will be a better yr.. HAPPY NEW YEAR MY DEAR FRENS!!!

Finally reached KL! lunchie...
As we only reached KL abt 2plus... den ate till abt 3 plus.. n den got free tix to go the Eye on Malaysia.. meiying n jz were oni given 1 hour.. yes 1 hour ONLY to shop in the shopping centres...

the 2 photos above are connected.. lemme tell u the story.. while photo 1 was being taken, OK said "i suddenly rem u telling me tt take photos mus try to get ur face more behind den the others, den face will b smaller" upon saying tt, i moved bac one step.. n OK simply just leaned back.. lol... apparently a 2nd shot was decided to be taken.. n this time round KQ oso heard the comments.. so u c all of us fighting to lean back more to hav small faces in the photo!!! 
anywae the area surrounding Eye on Malaysia has very nice scenery.. somemore we went ard sunset time.. so took a lot of photos.. 
we decided to walk one round n wait till abt sun setting time den get onto the Eye on Malaysia to see nice view.. but along the way... i saw the swing n i couldn't resist going to play... n den everyone took their turns... lol..
n den it became a playground session.......... 
finally decided to walk back to the Eye on Malaysia...

Day Four - Go home day...
As you all can see, all thks to our official photographer JZ, even tho we din go anywhere to see or do anything on the last day.. we still took a lot of photos!!! hahaha.. all thks to her we've had a trip well documented.. n this marks the end of the trip. thks frens for reading!

After returning the car n b4 meeting us, OK n xiaoyou went to Snake Temple (apparently with no more snakes oredi...)
N all of us converged at Queensbay Mall, a new shopping centre~

After tt, we kinda searched HIGH & LOW.. simply cos we wanna eat Penang Laksa in Penang.. but we searched for so long n couldnt find we nearly wanted to giv up.. n come home telling ppl "we couldnt find penang laksa in penang!!!" but of cos with our persistence, we managed to find it!!! i realli like the thick beehoon.. very nice n Q.

hehe c the choc boutique below? we saw it on the penang map n decided to go take a look.. tot it's some museum with choc sculptures or wat.. but upon entering.. alas. it's those cheat tourists to buy expensive chocs shop. i was like "how come we nvr go on tour package, go free n easy.. but stupidly come into this kinda shop to let ppl chop our carrot heads?" lol...
with all our shou1 huo4 for the day.. all the nutmeg belachan shopping etc...
went bac to the hotel to rest awhile before setting off for dinner n movie~
We travelled by foot from hotel to dinner place to cinema.. so along the way, we found a holland v lookalike place tt we din plan to go.. called New World Town or watever.. something lidat. hehe.. oni stopped to take some photos tho..
n den we came to where we're supposed to visit on the way.. heritage shophses! it's abit of a disapppointment cos i tot since it's on the map, it'll have some gift shops or wateverr for me to shop. but end up it's realli jus the architecture they're showcasing. it's jus normal food stalls. budden it's quite nice la hehe... but nonetheless, since we still had time, we decided to stop for a dessert b4 we leave for our midnight show..
okie.. midnight movie marks the end of the day... n the end of penang.. look out for my update on the rest of the trip! ie KL. hahaha...

Vertical Challenge 2007
started out to be a junk mail.. wat charity event.. wat climb the 27 flights of stairs of my office building..
subsequently my siao-onz colleague-frens start to ask if wanna join. dere's the indiv race, which is an endurance race, and the relay race, which is a speed race. but cos a team oni needs 4 ppl, managed to get outta joining the competition. den tot mayb can donate to their team la.. proceeds will go to president challenge. they call themselves Team SunRise.
den realised one of my colleague-frens kenna arrowed to take part in the competition as a department team, with the dept's director. laughed abit at how kelian she is.. gotta take part with director.. n den there's best-dressed team award. so this dept team dressed up abit. but as i duno if my colleague-fren minds, i shall not offer any pic here.
den na li zhi dao!!! last min my dept decide to form a team to join too.. n i was asked. bu hao yi si reject, i accepted. n i became like my colleague-fren above, who has to b in the same team as my director. so much for laughin at ppl.. wahhaa..
but it turned out to b quite fun. a potentially blue monday became a half-day due to the event, n quite happy to b able to meet up with the whole colleague-fren clique cos some of them are working at sites de.. so dun always meet up.
n standing in a crowd of excited ppl ready to climb stairs, even tho it's standing with my dept colleagues n director, turned out to b quite fun too. due to the best-dressed team award, some grps turned up in ridiculous costumes.. tt is quite funny too.
standing at the 8F waiting for my 1st runner to reach me, and cheering for all the ppl whom i dun even noe who passes me, is quite fun too. climbing the 6 flights of stairs itself, tho abit cannot make it after 5 flrs.. is quite fun too.
sitting on the top flr waiting for the results to be announced.. n doing nothing but sitting dere n taking photos.. is quite fun too. when results are announced, bcos i noe some of the winners, cheering for them is fun too. even tho i'm not very attached to my coy yet, but whenever a team frm my coy wins the other 2 coys, it's still fun to cheer.
okie shall end off with a group photo, and a photo of my number tag. meiying has decided to take advantage of the time i'm with this coy, and make full use of all the welfare n benefits n activities.

yeah i'm sorry everyone. haven been updating for almost 2 months now. hehe. gotten more n more nuah ever since started working. now i seldom shop, seldom youtube, seldom watch dvds, seldom watch tv, seldom read storybooks.. now.. i wonder wat i've been doing for past 2 months.
anywae for all who duno, meiying's worklife has become better since sometime in end of august. cos due to the hidden agenda of my coy, we hav a lot of networking events. so during one networking event for newbies in end aug, and an orientation prog for newbies in end sept, i've gotten to noe a group of newbies from diff depts, n since den it has been somewhat like having been thru FWC and den start to hav outings. n meiying has since had lunch partners.
i agree with m***hen (for privacy of my fren i've *** some of the letters of her name), that in a job, the colleague culture is actualli sorta more impt den the work itself. n i'm not particularly on very good terms with my colleagues in my dept. somehow i cannot get myself to go beyond the colleague relationship into frenship knowing tt we've to work together in someway or another. therefore i'm somehow glad tt my coy has this hidden agenda n i can get to noe a clique of colleagues in other depts, where we dun hav common jobscope, and most imptly, they're ard my age, and not all married with kids like those in my dept. 
hehe so for every lovely fren who hav been concerned abt meiying's well being, i'm sorry for not updating earlier. n u can b assured tt meiying has been leading a better life. the clique of colleague-frens is abit siao onz de.. plus the hidden agenda of my coy, we hav damn a lot of weird weird activities like Active Day (go bedok reservoir exercise), recreation club member's night (where hav lucky draw n a number game similar to bingo called tombola), family day.. etc etc.. so meiying has been playing quite a bit.
oh n due to the siao-onz-ness of the colleague-frens, meiying just went on a penang-KL trip with them during the deepavali holidays. but the photos are in my office laptop, so i shall blog abt it another day k? when i finally feel non-nuah enuff to transfer the photos over to my pc, and hav the mood to blog again. happy waiting!!!

duno if it's cos i once took french (which of cos i've forgotten almost 95% of wat i learnt), or cos i simply like french stuff, i've always been quite interested in french foreign films.. (tho altho i like, i realli nvr bother to go hunt for the books/movies to read/watch)...
ok.. so much for fei hua intro. the idea is, a week b4 my bdae, i suddenly had this decision to chong3 chong3 myself n treat myself to a sistic musical/play. so i started surfing the sistic webby. but there is no interesting thing except for chitty chitty bang bang, which will oni start in nov. but i wanna watch in oct. haha. so i continue surfing the webby, and coincidentally it's now the Singapore French Film Festival. n i decided to settle for a french musical movie instd. yuan lai there is this place called the Alliance Francaise de Singapour Theatre, where they screen french movies every mth!!
so i jio-ed my beloved movie partner squadmte ELI! to go for the movie. The movie we watched is called "Les parapluies de Cherbourg", which translates to "The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg". It's a sad love story, with a good ending despite the sadness of the love story. both eli n i are pleased with the ending.
I enjoyed the show alot.. cos 1) it's a musical, the songs are not bad. 2) the storyline altho sad, has a good ending. 3) the female leads have VERY pretty eyes, n they look like barbie dolls. 4) the show hav some very cliche n purposely romantic actions, like when they kiss they hav to spin. not the camera spin, but the couple spin. 5) duno if it's an old film (the setting is in the 50s, 60s), there are some very funny lousy filming skills like the abrupt changing of scenes, and got some scene where the couple was walking a bicycle and supposed to be strolling, but u can c damn obviously that they're on a trolley/platform and they were being pulled along. so they machiam like ghosts floating lidat. 6) i feel good being able to understd some simple french terms like "bonjour, bonsoir, madame, madamoiselle, monsieur, oui, non" etc. (pardon me if i spelled wrongly. i din chk my french dictionary. ) 7) i feel classy watching a foreign film in a non-conventional cinema. 8) i watched the show with Eli, who appreciates the show as much as me.
